Cleft Lip and Palate Repair

Cleft lip and palate repair is the surgical closing and correction of congenital clefts in the lip or palate.

In these surgeries:

• The cleft lip (opening in the upper lip) is combined and a natural lip shape is created,

• By closing the cleft palate (palate opening in the mouth), both the appearance and the speech and swallowing functions are corrected.

Purpose: To improve facial aesthetics, speech, nutrition and general oral functions.
